stamford day centre treated to a magical afternoon of song

Guests of Christ Church Day Centre in Green Lane, Stamford we treated to a fabulous afternoon of classic musical theatre on Wednesday 8th October 2014.

The 'Magic of the Musicals' event was performed by Wildcats Post 16 Academy, a full time performing arts school based in Stamford.  Students are working towards a professional qualification in Musical Theatre - and hope to go onto theatre schools and universities across the country.  As part of their course they have to perform in front of an audience - and Christ Church Day Centre gave them the ideal place to perform classical musical theatre pieces. The students perform songs from from well known musicals including Lambeth Walk from Me and My Girl, People will say we're in Love from Oklahoma and Anything you can do I can do better from Annie Get your Gun.

Liv West, from Bourne said 'It was a pleasure to perform to the elderly guests at the Day Centre who enjoyed a lovely home cooked lunch before a performance of classical musical theatre from myself and my fellow students.  We as a year group are keen to work with the local community and we felt that the guests really enjoyed the experience. They encouraged us to continue with our training and following our dreams of performing.'
