Wildcats Prepare to return to the Indig02 Theatre, London
Wildcats Post 16 Academy (Stamford School of Arts), based in Stamford are this week preparing for a showcase performance at the Indig02 theatre, within the 02 venue at Greenwich, London.
64 students, aged 16-19 are performing a number of musical theatre medleys. Students are part of the BTEC Extended Diploma in Dance or Musical Theatre and study at the Wildcats buildings in Stamford. Over the past few months they have been working hard on perfecting their routines, learning choreography, song words and arranging costume. The performance forms part of the students qualification and the performance itself is also assessed.
Year 1 and 2 students are performing a number of different pieces including medleys from Chicago,Moulin Rouge and American Idiot. A mix of songs from the musical version of 'Ghost' is also being performed alongside a Rock of Ages piece.
Caz Dolby of Wildcats said 'Part of the Post 16 courses here at the Stamford School of Arts includes real life work experience - and nothing can be more real than going and performing in some of the countries top venues. The experience of being backstage, and performing in such venues gives so much confidence to our students - giving them a glimpse of what it is like in the industry. For many, its these performances that inspire students to go on and continue into higher education, furthering their knowledge so that they can achieve their goals.'
