THE CRESSET AND WILDCATS JOIN FORCES TO OFFER DYNAMIC NEW THEATRE CLASSES IN PETERBOROUGH
Wildcats Theatre School will be opening its doors at The Cresset Theatre in January, offering Musical Theatre classes and a full programme of holiday activities to children aged 4-16 years.
Wildcats Theatre School are based in Stamford, and have classes across the local area including Hampton, Kings Cliffe and Stamford. They run weekly classes and holiday programmes for children of all ages, working on confidence, teamwork and musical theatre skills as well as having fun, making new friends and taking part in performances. The school have a 100% pass rate at LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) examinations with over half the children entered receiving a distinction grade. They were finalists in the Stamford Mercury Business of the Year awards 2010 and have recently been selected to perform at Her Majesty's Theatre, in London’s West End - home to Phantom of the Opera, as part of a national competition.
The Cresset, in Bretton and Wildcats have formed a partnership to provide Musical Theatre classes and holiday activities including Summer and Easter school at the venue. The classes will enable children from across the area to work towards Musical Theatre examinations, performances and events throughout the year using a mixture of traditional and modern musicals such as The Sound of Music, Wicked and Hairspray. The holiday programmes offered will enable children to work towards fully licensed performances of shows such as High School Musical, Camp Rock, Aristocats and Annie. The school plans to develop further classes at The Cresset including GCSE Performing Arts and the national Arts Award programme over the coming year.
