Wildcats Theatre School, who have for the past 3 years concentrated on working with children aged 4-16 years have taken the next step in becoming a fully inclusive Theatre School by launching new full time further education courses in Musical Theatre.

The courses, which will be based in Peterborough, will offer students leaving school after GCSEs the chance to gain a professional Musical Theatre qualification within a Theatre School environment.  Working towards a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) the students will work on large scale performances, audition skills, vocal training and development as well as learning technique including how to choreograph routines.  The course is full time and a recognised route to success in the performing arts industry.

The course is being offered in partnership with New College Stamford.  The course will be based at the Cresset Theatre Venue in Peterborough.

Students who sign up to the course will get the chance to perform on a West End Stage, undertake work experience within the school, and attend trips and visits to enhance their development and learning. The course is fully funded for students aged 16-18 years

Kelly-Ann Soper, Course Co-ordinator and teacher said 'This development means we can offer all our students a route into professional musical theatre training. From age 4 they can attend our weekly classes, developing through the groups. They then, at 16 have the option of training with us full time. The course will offer amazing performance opportunities as well as teaching from some of the area’s best performers."
