Wildcats Academy has received the Local Living Business Award for Entrepreneur of the Year.

The Local Living Business Awards for Stamford and Rutland were launched in October 2012 to celebrate all that is

great about business in our area.  The area is famous for its quaint rural charm, and indeed Stamford has recently been voted the best town in the UK in which to live.  However one of the reasons the area is so great to live in is the fact that our employment levels are 5% above the national average and there is a vast array of businesses from sole traders to global corporates covering a wide range of sectors.

Small to Medium Enterprises form a very large part of the area’s business community and are therefore vitally important to the region’s economy.  There are currently an estimated 4.8 million SME’s in the UK employing 23.9 million with a combined turnover of £3,100 billion.  There were 200,000 more new businesses than normal registered in 2012, exceeding previous records.

Wildcats Founder Caz Dolby commented: “We are delighted to receive this award in recognition of the work we have done with Wildcats.  We have had an excellent four years building the business and look forward to developing even more new ideas over the coming months.’

Nicholas Rudd Jones, Director of the Awards sponsor, Local Living Magazines, said: “I congratulate Wildcats on achieving their Entrepreneur of the Year Award. These Awards are all about celebrating the region’s businesses and all the benefit they bring to their communities and the economic viability of the area.  Wildcats has demonstrated that they have truly fulfilled the criteria of this category”

Miranda Rock, House Director of Burghley House and Chair of this year’s judges, said “All of the companies rewarded in this year’s scheme amply demonstrate the vibrancy and breadth of the business community in our area.  This is something of which the region should be incredibly proud”
