Fees, venue & entry requirements

Entry Requirements:

4 GCSE's at Grade C or above. There will also be an audition and an interview. 

To gain a place at the school you need to prove, through interview and audition that you are 100% committed and dedicated to a career in this industry - either performing on stage or teaching.  The school has a strong family ethos and only those truly committed to becoming part of this family will be accepted onto the course.


The course is held at two venues:

 Wildcats Academy, Castle House, St. Peters Hill, Stamford, PE9 2PE

Stamford School of Arts, Broad Street, Stamford, PE9 1PJ

The venue has 2 dance studios, 3 performance studios, classrooms, rehearsal space, study centre and a student kitchen. 


Students attending are able to access the transport provided to New College Stamford students.  Once a place has been confirmed students can apply for their transport directly.  The college serves many areas including Spalding, Corby, Kettering, Peterborough, Bourne, and Market Deeping.  Students can also arrange their own transport through either train, bus or family.  Bursaries towards transport costs are available subject to household income.


The BTEC course is free to students aged 16-19 years who have been a UK citizen for 3+ years.  19 year olds can access funding as long as they have not got a previous Level 3 qualification.
There may be some small costs for trips and visits, costume and scripts although these will be kept to a minimum.
Those over 19 who already have a Level 3 qualification will be required to pay towards the cost of the course.  Currently this is around £1000 PA.

The HNC/HND course is currently £6500 per year and payable by either a student loan or self funding.

Start up costs for each student which include photocopying allowance, student planner and USB stick total around £30.00.  
Essential kit is also required and consists of:

  • Black Character shoes (girls) and Black Jazz Shoes

  • Black split sole dance shoes/sneakers - for all practical classes

  • Black dance trousers/tracksuit bottoms/leggings (must be plain black)

  • Black dance shorts – to wear underneath costumes etc 

  • Full uniform (a top and hoodie is provided but students will need to purchase their own spares)
